The Lovely View is a blog dedicated to the exploration and discovery of beauty in art and life, in all its facets and permutations- be it lovely, sublime, or the awkwardly beautiful.
My name is Julia Rymer. I create abstract paintings and works on paper that explore the emotional resonance of color and form in the natural world. My writings uncover the struggle and joy behind the artistic process for myself and my fellow artists as I invite conversation about contemporary art and artistic practice.
Based in the Denver Metro Area in Colorado, I hold an MFA in Painting from Pratt Institute and a BFA in Painting from the University of Denver. My 20+ year exhibition record features many solo and group shows throughout the US, with work included in numerous corporate and private collections throughout the United States. My work is represented by Serena & Lily, and has been featured in Westword, Trouvé Magazine and Southern Living. In addition, I am the co-founder of artboss, a brand dedicated to helping creative entrepreneurs build their businesses.
